For writers and creatives who actually show up
A home for you if you want honest, useful feedback — and a community you can come back to.
Summit Forged Foundry is a curated Discord server for critique, craft, and connection — free to join, built for people who care about the work and still want room to breathe.
Free to join. Moderated, respectful, and built for people who give as well as receive feedback.
What is the Foundry?
The Foundry is a moderated Discord server built for people who want a steady, sustainable place to develop their creative work. It’s not a chaotic meme pit and it’s not a content mill — it’s a workshop and a hangout spot in one, with writers at the core and room for other working creatives as the community grows.
You’ll find people who care about language, structure, and revision — and who understand that meaningful feedback is a responsibility, not a drive-by comment.
Who it’s for
- Students balancing coursework with creative or professional projects.
- Emerging writers and storytellers building a consistent practice.
- Working adults who still take their craft seriously.
- Anyone tired of shallow “just vibes” spaces with no real follow-through.
- Writers at any skill level who are serious about improving, not just collecting compliments.
Inside the Foundry
The server is structured so you always know where things belong: clear places for community, craft, and critique.
Welcome & Orientation
- Server Guide: a clear map of channels and how to use them.
- Rules: short, enforceable standards — not a wall of text.
- Introductions: share who you are and what you’re working on.
- Announcements: updates from the Summit Forged team.
The Forge (Community Hangout)
- Writers’ Floor: general writing talk, questions, wins, and stuck points.
- Craft Hall: deeper dives into technique, structure, and theory.
- Candlelight Lounge: off-topic chat so life has a place too.
- Creative Showcase: polished work to share, celebrate, and inspire.
Studio Labs & Scriptorium
- Fiction / Nonfiction / Poetry Labs: thread-based critique for pages in progress.
- Other forms: space for scripts, game writing, and hybrid projects as the community grows.
- Scriptorium: resources, tools, and collaboration — plus links back to the wider Summit Forged ecosystem when you want more support.
What we expect from members
This isn’t a “join, drop a link, and vanish” server. If you’re here, you’re part of the community.
- Respect the work and the person. Critique the text, not the creator.
- Stay on mission. Craft and creative growth come first; off-topic has its own lane.
- Give as well as take. If you ask for feedback, plan to offer feedback too.
- Handle heavy topics carefully. Use content notes and appropriate channels when things get dark or intense.
- Follow Discord’s terms. No harassment, hate speech, or illegal content. Period.
The tone we’re aiming for
Direct, honest, and constructive. You don’t have to pretend everything is brilliant, but you do need to engage in good faith. The Foundry is for people who want to grow and help others grow — not for clout chasing, dogpiling, or edgelord posturing.
Moderators step in when needed, but the culture starts with members who understand that this is a shared space. You’re not just a guest; you’re part of the Forge.
How it works
- Join the server. Use the invite below to enter the space.
- Read the guide & rules. It’s short, and it matters.
- Introduce yourself. Share what you write and what you’re working toward.
- Start small. Join discussions, offer feedback, and ease into the Labs.
- Stick around. Let the community become part of your writing routine, not just a one-off stop.
You don’t need to be “good enough” to join. You do need to be willing to learn, listen, and respect the people sharing space with you.
